Abstract: In this research, the effect of some plant extracts on the adults of the southern cowpea beetle, Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) was studied, and the toxic effect of alcoholic extracts of the seeds of Peganum harmala L., Citrullus colocynthis (schrad), and Datura innoxia was studied. The insect adults were treated with alcoholic plant extracts and at concentrations (1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, 8000, 10000) ppm / complete by fine spraying and at concentrations (1.25, 2, 5, 10,30,60) ppm / complete and at a temperature of (30 + 1) ° C and relative humidity (70 + 2)% and observe the results after (24- 48) hours of treatment.Treatment with alcoholic extracts showed that the alcoholic colocynth fruit extract was superior to the rest of the extracts, as it achieved two kill rates (83.33 and 91.66%) at the concentration of 10,000 ppm/complete and after 48 and 24 hours of treatment, respectively, and the Lc50 value was equal to 4700 ppm/complete. While the alcoholic caramel seed extract achieved two killing rates (70.83 and 91.66)% at the concentration of 10000 ppm/complete and after 48 and 24 hours of treatment, respectively, and the Lc50 value was equal to 5200 ppm/complete. While the extract of Datura fruits was the least effective on insect adults, as it achieved two kill rates (83.33 and 66.66%) at the concentration of 10,000 ppm/whole and after 48 and 24 hours of treatment, respectively, and the Lc50 value was equal to 6,900 ppm/whole.
