Composition and diversity of erebid moth fauna in India: A review

Abstract: This paper is aimed to review the erebid moth fauna in different areas of India. Various statistical tools have been used by authors to determine the composition and diversity of erebid moths of India. Tools like index of species diversity, evenness index, index of dominance and other statistical tools have been used. The erebid moths possess significant habitat fidelity hence act as important group for ecological studies also they act as pests of crops and fruit plants so there is a great need of future planning for the conservation of this important group of moths as well as their host plants.
