Abstract: Barber's poleas, also known as the red stomach worm, is the popular name for this parasite. This is due to the fact that the female with the white uterus has a blood-filled intestine that spirals around. The current investigation was conducted with the intention of elucidating the morphometry and characterisation of the Haemonchus species that were isolated from sheep, goats, and cattle collected 220 abomasum samples from corpses from several local slaughterhouses during postmortem inspection (95 from goats, 25 from sheep, and 100 from sheep) in the Governorate of Kirkuk starting on July 1, 2022, and ending on January 31, 2023. The overall infection percentage was (27.27%). With (32%) infected sheep, (22%) infected goats, and (28%) infected cattle. The preliminary diagnostic was conducted using a compound microscope. The separated worms exhibited a variety of lengths, spanning from 9 to 32 millimetres. The body length of male Haemonchus spp isolated from cattle (9-13 mm) was shorter than that of males isolated from sheep (9-14 mm) and goats (10-16 mm), respectively. The length of female cattle was greater (22-30 mm) than that of sheep and goats, whereas the body lengths of female sheep and goats were (18-32 mm) and (18-28 mm) correspondingly. In this study, three different shapes of vulvar flabs were observed in female Haemonchus spp. parasites from sheep, goats, and cattle. The most frequently observed shape was linguiform, followed by knobbed and smooth shapes. Linguiform shapes were most commonly found in cattle (75%), followed by sheep (61.90%) and goats (50%). The knobbed shape of vulvar flabs was moderately observed, with percentages of 28.57%, 25%, and 23.81% in goats, cattle, and sheep, respectively. The smooth form was relatively rare in H. spp, with frequencies of 7.14%, 9.52%, and 0 in goat, sheep, and cattle, respectively.
